Practices
Choir will be starting sometime in the fall, and we will usually practice once a week. If there is an indoor recess, or if Mme Sara or Mme Kristine are away, practice may be cancelled. Extra practices may be scheduled if needed in the week or two leading up to a performance. Please listen to the announcements to know when to come to choir practice or if practice is cancelled.
Once choir has started in the fall, we will run until mid November (Remembrance Day). After Remembrance Day we will be starting a new round of choir leading up to a performance before the winter break. The Remembrance Day choir will be open to students from grades 2 and 3, and the Holiday choir will be open to students from grades 1-3. Anyone may leave or join the choir when we start up in preparation of the Holiday performance.

Attendance
When you join choir, the first week is to listen to some of the songs that we will be learning and decide if you enjoy coming. If you decide to come the following week, you are making a commitment to be part of the choir until our next performance. That means that if you are at school on the day of a choir practice, you are expected to be at choir practice, unless your teacher has asked you to stay in and finish work. If you miss more than 2 practices on days when you were at school, Mme Sara and Mme Kristine may decide that you can no longer be part of the choir, since we need everyone to know all the songs when it is time to perform. You should not join the choir just so that you can stay in for recess when you don't feel like going outside.
Singing!
If you have decided to join choir, hopefully it is because you love to sing! Even if you are not a confident singer, you are still welcome to be part of the choir, as long as you try your best and sing along with the group. When everyone sings every song, the choir sounds beautiful!
